The chapter reviews the case studies dealing with resistances in relation to frontiers and identities, draws general conclusions, and suggests avenues for future research in the field. It is part of Crossing Frontiers, Resisting Identities, the fifth and final volume of an international research group, which comprises a reflection on its work over the past five years and proposals for future analyses.
The volume uses the binomial "Frontiers and Identities" as a heuristic tool for understanding the past and the present. It is a product of the Thematic Work Group 5 of the Network of Excellence CLIOHRES, supported by the European Commission through the Sixth Framework Programme of its Directorate General for Research.
