The chapter analyses three volumes produced by Thematic Work Group 4, which dealt with the threefold issue of gender, work and society, from the perspective of frontiers and identities. The chapter is part of the book Crossing Frontiers, Resisting Identities, the fifth and final volume of an international research group, which comprises a reflection on its work over the past five years and proposals for future analyses.
The volume uses the binomial "Frontiers and Identities" as a heuristic tool for understanding the past and the present. It is a product of the Thematic Work Group 5 of the Network of Excellence CLIOHRES, supported by the European Commission through the Sixth Framework Programme of its Directorate General for Research.
