Abstract
Taking the example of a lexeme "kariérista" (career climber), the article debates the results of a questionnaire survey that has revealed that pupils are able to neither explain nor use numerous words regarded as fully commprehensible until recently. Teachers therefore need to pay constant attention to semantics.
