Discriminating Borders and Intolerant Identities

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2010

Abstract

The chapter revisits the contribution of the research team to the discussion of discrimination and tolerance. Authors reconsider the understanding of the concept as they see it at the end of the project.

Together with chapters devoted to migration and gender it contributes to the discourse on frontiers and identities within the research network. The goal was to identify usage of the concept which could help to define new agenda for "Crossing Frontiers, Resisting Identities", the 5th and final volume of an international research group.

Comprises a reflection on its work over the past 5 years and proposals for future analyses. The volume uses the binomial "Frontiers and Identities" as a heuristic tool for understanding the past and the present.

It is a product of the Thematic Work Group 5 of the Network of Excellence CLIOHRES, supported by the EC through the 6th FP of its Directorate General for Research.
