Abstract

Cognitive science is a transdisciplinary science which uses the research results of many fields. In the same time, it also tries to merge knowledge of these disciplines and view them in the broad context.

Fields contributing to cognitive science can make use of its results as well and enrich their own processes, methods and ways of thinking with new ideas. The paper focuses on relation between information science and cognitive science, their boundaries and possible contributions of their interaction.

Both general context and particular examples are presented (e.g. cognitive paradigm in information science, human-computer interaction, and socio-cognitive approaches).
