Stanlley Cavell, one of the most important American contemporary philosophers, has explored forms of ordinary happiness in its limited as well as utopic aspects. Instead of offerign edification, he anchored his thought in scpeticism and happily joined its ordinary and extraordinary, political and aesthetic, logical and literary dimensions.
