Abstract
The article is divided into two parts. The first outlines a short mythopoetical typology of the images of the mirror.
Concrete motives of the mirror in the work of three mentioned authors are discussed in the second part. The reflection in the painterly work of Josef Šíma is an immanent character of the world; it forms a structure of the cosmos in the archaic meaning of the word.
In the prosaic work of Richard Weiner, the motives of mirror function as a medium of self-reflection. By Konstantin Biebl, the reflection is an event in which man meets the world and lives momentary identity with it.
