Neuroendocrine tumours

Abstract

The article summarizes current WHO classification of neuroendocrine tumours, possibilities of their diagnostics, radiological localization and treatment including new methods of nuclear medicine. The major focus is on insulinoma and gastrinoma (Zollinger-Ellison syndrome) but rear tumours as VIPoma, glucagonoma and somatostatinoma are mentioned as well.

The most common neuroendocrine tumour – carcinoid – is not subject of this review.
